2023 All-Ireland Scór Sinsear Final

November 18, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The 2023 All-Ireland Scór Sinsear Final took place on Saturday November 18th at the INEC Killarney.

It was a proud day for Munster in the Kingdom at the All-Ireland Scór Sinsir Final and claimed three titles with wins for Cork, Limerick, and Kerry. It was a fantastic day for the province with a successful hosting of the Scór Sinsir final for the first time since 2016 and complemented by superb performances from our Munster representatives.

Cathaoirleach CLG Comhairle na Mumhan Gearóid Ó Riain was in attendance and presented the cups and medals to the newly crowned All-Ireland Champions.

Sráid an Mhuilinn sampled success for Cork by winning the Tráth na gCeist following a close scoring competition. This was the club’s first Scór Sinsir Tráth na gCeist title since 2001. The Rebel County club edged out Eadain Doire, Uíbh Fhailí agus Cnoc na hEaglaise, Ciarraí who finished in 2nd and 3rd places respectively following the conclusion of the on-stage individual questions.

Rita Uí Ghráda brought the Aithriseoireacht cup to the Treaty county. Rita from Monagea captivated the audience with the piece ‘Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoghaire’ by Eibhlín Dubh Ní Chonaill and captured Limerick’s first Aithriseoireacht title since Michael Shinnors from Patrickwell in 2008.

An Spá from the Kingdom danced their way to glory in the Rince Seit following their rhythmic performance of the Lackyle Set. While this is the East Kerry club’s first All-Ireland Scór Sinsir Rince Seit title since 2008, they completed a famous ‘double’ where they are proud holders of All-Ireland Rince Seit titles in Scór na nÓg and Scór Sinsir this year.

This year’s Munster recipient of the Scór Long Service Award was Bill Harte from Carbery Rangers GAA club in Cork. Bill has been an instrumental figure in Scór since its inception. Bill has been to the forefront when his club have been victorious at divisional level in Carbery and has been to every corner of the country supporting Carbery Rangers on the National stage. 2018 proved to be an extra special year for Bill when Carbery Rangers claimed the Bailéad Ghrúpa titles in Scór na nÓg and Scór Sinsir in Sligo. A truly worthy recipient of the award – Maith thú Bill.

Christy Killeen of Finuge GAA in Kerry did a fantastic job as Máistir na gCeist and provided an excellent, broad range of questions for the Tráth na gCeist teams which went right down to the wire. Also, Máirtín Ó Cathasaigh of Lios Pól sang Amhrán na bhFiann beautifully.

Huge congratulations to the winners, organisers, Bean an Tí, Máistir na gCeist, long service award recipients and everyone involved in the efficient running of the final. Well done to all our representatives who just came up short for National honours; Cnoc na hEaglaise (Ciarraí), Tulach Sheasta (Tiobraid Árann), Comhartha Mainistir (Luimneach), Cáit Ní Sheancháin, Buiríos Uí Luíoch (Tiobraid Árann), Tulach Sheasta (Tiobraid Árann), Cuar an Chláir (An Clár) & Clann na nGael (Corcaigh).

It was a fantastic day for everyone involved with superb talent on display from all over the country.
