Jim Power Under 14 Football Tournament
Cork North won the Jim Power under 14 inter county football tournament played in the Dungarvan venue over the weekend. The tournament now in its eighteenth year saw ten county side take part.
The Cork side proved too strong for a gallant Tipperary side at the Brickey Rangers Club Grounds at Bushy Park winning 4-15 to 0-4. In the plate final played at the same venue, Cork South recorded a 6-6 to 3-9 win over Waterford.
The eighteenth playing of the Jim Power under 14 intercounty football tournament takes place in and around Dungarvan this Saturday with ten teams taking part.
Along with Waterford, two teams from Kerry and Limerick, three teams from Cork and one each from Clare and Tipperary will all compete.
Kerry South, Cork County ‘A’ and Limerick ‘A’ have been drawn together at the Dungarvan Club grounds. Cork City, Tipperary, Waterford and Clare will take part in group ‘B’ at Bushy Park and at the Colligan Club grounds Cork County ‘B’ Kerry North and Limerick ‘B’ will take part in group ‘C’.
The top team in each group advances to the semi final along with the second team in group ‘B’, with the second team from group’s ‘A’ and ‘C’ along with the Third team in group ‘B’ and the best third placed team from groups ‘A’ and ‘C’ all advancing to the plate semi finals.
