The M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Inter-Provincial League Round 4 will take place on Saturday August 9th from 10:30am to 1:30pm in the Athlone Institute of Technology

Round 1 Ulster v Leinster 10.30am
Round 2 Munster v Connacht 11.00am
Round 3 Connacht v Ulster 11.35am
Round 4 Munster v Leinster 12.05pm
Round 5 Munster v Ulster 12.40pm
Round 6 Connacht v Leinster 1.10pm

Q1 – What is Wheelchair Hurling?
Answer – Ground hurling, played by Wheelchair users.
Q2 – How old is the sport?
Answer – Wheelchair hurling was ‘invented’ in 1998 in a Dublin Special Needs school, by school Principal, Tim Maher.
Q3 – How many players are involved?
Answer – Teams are 6 a side, made up of: 2 Forwards, 1 Midfielder, 2 Backs and 1 Goal keeper.
Q4 – Does the game have zones?
Answer – Yes, there are three zones.
1. Attackers and Defenders must stay in their appropriate zones.
2. Midfielders can travel in both the attacking and defensive zones.
3. The Goal keepers are the only players allowed in the goal keeping zones.
