The 2025 USGAA Convention took place last weekend hosted by Nashville GAC at Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville Airport.

Over 200 delegates from across North America attended. Munster GAA are twinned with USGAA and were represented by Munster Vice-Chairman Sean Michael O’Regan and Munster Communications Manager Ed Donnelly while Camogie Secretary Hilda Breslin also travelled over from Ireland for the event.
On Friday night, Ed Donnelly and Michael Schaefer (Chairperson of the USGAA Marketing and Promotion committee and Chairperson of the Southwest Division) led a PR & Marketing workshop before a sizeable attendance, while Sean Michael O’Regan and Hilda Breslin attended the USGAA Youth Board Convention.
From 9am on Saturday, officers from over 100 clubs and 10 USGAA divisions attended the USGAA Convention as chaired by USGAA Chairperson Paul Keane. Nashville GAC Chair Noah Fitzpatrick welcomed delegates to Convention while Sean Michael O’Regan and Hilda Breslin also addressed Convention.
The various officer reports were then discussed and debated along with a review of the USGAA Junior Football team’s activities during the past year.
Eilish Owens and Kayla Jones from Texas A & M Handball Club attended Convention to launch a strategic partnership between USGAA and US Handball.
After lunch, Michael Cusack’s Hurling Club, Chicago were named the USGAA 2025 Club of the Year.
Munster GAA Vice-Chairman Sean Michael O’Regan launched the USGAA Development Initiatives Booklet as developed by the USGAA Games Development Committee.
In conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of the LGFA, USGAA launched a USGAA Ladies History book detailing the growth and triumphs of Ladies Gaelic Football across the USA.
USGAA Convention during the Treasurers Report by Tom Walsh
A total of 9 motions were on the Clár before the Election of Officers took place.
Tom Walsh (Denver Gaels) stepped down as Treasurer and will be replaced by Olivia Rabbitte. Tom will remain an ex-officio member of the Board for 2026. In a contest for Public Relations Officer, Bennett Burke defeated the outgoing Mary Redmond (St. Mary’s, Chicago, Central Division). Tom and Mary received tributes for their contributions to USGAA.

The final item on the agenda was to select the venue for the 2026 USGAA Convention which was confirmed as San Diego following a nomination by the Southwest Division.
