Comhairle Na Mumhan CLG

Waterford Crystal Cup

Regulations 2012

1. The Waterford Crystal Cup Competition shall be confined to inter-county and third level college teams in the province of Munster.

2. The competition shall be concluded one week before the commencement of the AHL 2012.

3. The competition shall be run on a knock-out basis.

4. All games shall be 70 minute games. Should both teams agree and authorisation is given by the Runaí Comhairle na Mumhan a fixture may be played mid week under lights at an appropriate venue.

5. Extra time shall be played in all games until a result is achieved; including the Final.  One notice to each participant will cover the entire competition.

6. College or county teams unable to complete fixtures on scheduled dates shall be automatically excluded from and deemed as knocked out of the competition.

7. All games shall be played at the venue of the county; not a college venue.  The premier county grounds shall be used for all games except with the express authorisation of the Cathaoirleach and Rúnaí of Comhairle Na Mumhan CLG.

8. The first drawn team shall have “home” venue, except where that team is a college team or where that team had home advantage in the previous meeting between the counties in the competition.  All games, including the final, shall be played at a “home” county venue.

9. The draw shall be made on the basis that college teams will not meet one another in the preliminary or quarter-final games, where this is avoidable.

10. A preliminary round shall be drawn and played where necessary to reduce the number of participating teams to 8; 4 etc.

11. College teams shall have first call on dual players i.e. Players on both county and college panels.  Players who play for their college in the competition shall not subsequently play with their county team in the event that their college team is knocked out of the competition.

12. In conjunction with regulation 10 a College teams shall submit a team panel list of twenty four players on or before 1st Dec. 2011 to the Runaí Comhairle na Mumhan and the college can claim first call on these players only.  However a college team may use other players drawn from outside this list provided they are eligible to play for the College in other official college competitions.

13. Admission to games up to and including quarter-final shall be €5 and admission to the semi-finals and final shall be €10.

14. All inclusive team expenses to cover all travel, meals, accommodation and all other expenses arising from involvement in the competition shall be paid at the rate of €650 for an away game and €350 for a home game.

15. There shall be no appeal against decisions of the CCC and/or Officers of Comhairle Na Mumhan in relation to the application or interpretation of these regulations.  The Management Committee of Comhairle Na Mumhan shall interpret and implement these regulations between meetings of the Council CCC.

16. The following draw format(s) will be used in the competition depending on the number of participating counties and colleges:
