The Munster Junior Football Championship is underway with victories for Limerick over Tipperary and Cork over Waterford.

Limerick staged a good comeback in the second half to defeat Tipperary by four points at Semple Stadium on Sunday. Limerick led by 0-3 to 0-2 early on before a Benny Hickey goal put Tipperary in front and by the interval, Tipperary led by 1-6 to 0-4. Limerick had the aid of the wind in the second half and were helped by a straight red card for Tipperary wing-back Pa Morrissey in the 32nd minute. Limerick proceeded to dominate the second half and drew level with 15 minutes to go. Tipperary went in front again thanks to a Benny Hickey point but Limerick scored the last five points of the game to secure a deserved victory.

Cork rebounded from a slot start to earn a comprehensive victory over Waterford in the Munster Junior Football Championship Quarter-Final on Sunday at Fraher Field Dungarvan. Waterford scored an early goal to take the lead but Cork responded by raising a green flag of their own courtesy of Fiachra Lynch. By the interval, Cork led by 1-6 to 1-1 before going on to win by 10 points in the end.
