Wheelchair Hurling Inter-Provincial League Round 3
The M. Donnelly GAA Wheelchair Hurling Inter-Provincial League Round 3 will take place on Saturday June 28th from 10:30am to 1:30pm in the Sports Arena, University of Limerick.
Favourites Munster, lead the way in the League with 17 points. Hot on their heels are Connacht with 14 points, while Leinster remains in touch on 11 points. Ulster, who have a young side are on 6 points. The last time Wheelchair Hurling was in Limerick – September 2010, Munster won the Senior competition and Leinster won the Junior.

Q1 – What is Wheelchair Hurling?
Answer – Ground hurling, played by Wheelchair users.
Q2 – How old is the sport?
Answer – Wheelchair hurling was ‘invented’ in 1998 in a Dublin Special Needs school, by school Principal, Tim Maher.
Q3 – How many players are involved?
Answer – Teams are 6 a side, made up of: 2 Forwards, 1 Midfielder, 2 Backs and 1 Goal keeper.
Q4 – Does the game have zones?
Answer – Yes, there are three zones.
1. Attackers and Defenders must stay in their appropriate zones.
2. Midfielders can travel in both the attacking and defensive zones.
3. The Goal keepers are the only players allowed in the goal keeping zones.
