Match Preview
Limerick were very much the outsiders at the beginning of this championship but having provided stubborn opposition for Tipperary last week , Waterford will certainly not be taking the treaty ladies for granted this weekend.
Waterford enjoyed a 2-17 to 2-12 win over Tipp in Round 1 and a draw or better will get the champions back to the Munster final. Having not enjoyed the best league campaign the 5 time all Ireland senior champions will look to Michelle Ryan, Elaine Power Michelle McGrath and Linda Wall to contribute their experience and good form.
Limerick have nothing to lose. They troubled Tipperary at stages but were over run in the final ten minutes as they conceded 3 late goals. Dympna O’Brien is joined in the scoring stakes by Claire O’Riordan which gives Limerick a twin attack of note but it is their defence which will come under most pressure and but expect Alva Neary and Janet Garvey to put in a decent shift.
