MIC and Munster GAA partner to launch new Centre of Excellence
The main focus of the new Centre of Excellence will be to encourage children and young people’s participation at all levels of Gaelic games, irrespective of ability, and to promote a lifelong interest in and love of the sports.

Munster GAA Awards – Sean O’Shea named Footballer of the Year
Kerry star Sean O’Shea has been named Munster Footballer of the year for 2022 while Waterford’s Karen McGrath is the Munster Ladies Footballer of the Year. Aidan O’Connor (Limerick) is the Under 20 Hurler of the Year while Limerick’s John Kiely is the Manager of the Year.
Munster GAA Awards – Diarmaid Byrnes named Hurler of the Year
Limerick’s Diarmaid Byrnes is the Munster Senior Hurler of the Year while Ballygunner of Waterford are the Munster Club of the Year. Other winners include Clare’s Doireann Murphy is the Camogie player of the year while the Minor Players of the Year are Tom Delaney (Tipperary) and Bryan Hayes (Cork) in Hurling and Football respectively.

The TUS Munster GAA Post Primary Schools Q-Final draws for Corn an Artaigh (19 A Hurling), Corn Ui Mhuiri (19 A Football), Corn Thomais Mhic Choilm (19 B Hurling) & Corn Risteard Ui Mhathuna (19 C Hurling) took place on Thursday December 15th.
2022 Munster GAA Awards – Hall of Fame winners announced
Former Clare footballer Noel Roche and Tipperary’s two-time All-Ireland hurling winner Nicky English have been inducted into the Munster GAA Hall of Fame. Devon Burns of Kerry is the Munster Under 20 Footballer of the Year while Martin Spain is the Munster Handball Person of the Year. Tim Floyd (Tipperary) and Pat Fitzgerald (Clare) have been honoured with Distinguished Service Awards.
