Munster GAA Activity Days – Killarney
Munster GAA held its first Activity Days in 2012 in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney on July 17th and 18th. Thirty-five clubs were represented by their U10 football teams. Each team had the opportunity to play football on the hallowed ground in the week prior to the Kerry/Tyrone Football qualifier. They met Kerry star Kieran O’Leary who brought them on a tour of the stadium and gave them an outline of the preparation of an inter-county player for match day. The teams played in mini-tournaments of 11-a-side with the emphasis on maximising participation for all team members. Hopefully the players will cherish the experience and many of those involved over the 2 days will return to Stáid an Ghearaltaigh to represent their clubs and counties with pride.
The participating clubs included Feohanagh/Castlemahon, Rathmore, Churchill, St Senans (Co.Kerry), John Mitchells, Macroom, Newcastle West, Castleisland Desmonds, Keel, Lissycasey, Knocknagree, Brosna, Kilmurry/Ibrickane, Kenmare, Mountcollins, Castlegregory, Kiltha Óg, Gneeveguilla, Kilrush, Beaufort, Ballymacelligot, Currow, Listry, Finuge, Skellig Rangers, Fr Sheehys, An Gealteacht, Beale, Doonbeg, Claughaun, Dingle, Austin Stacks, Crosshaven, Cratloe, Annascaul, Sneem/Derrynane.
