Electric Ireland GAA Hurling All Ireland Minor B Championship – Kerry 3-10 Meath 0-17
Hussey the key to Kingdom win
Kerry 3-10 Meath 0-17
By Noel Coogan for the Irish Examiner newspaper
A dramatic injury-time goal by Cian Hussey sent Kerry into the last four of the All-Ireland MBHC and eliminated holders Meath at Páirc Tailteann, Navan. Despite losing Michael O’Leary to a second yellow card on 55 minutes, Kerry refused to concede defeat and after the home defence failed to clear a delivery from Tommy Casey, corner-forward Hussey got the winning touch. O’Leary had made his mark with a contribution of 1-3 with the goal coming after 13 minutes to leave the visitors leading by 1-3 to 0-3. Spearheaded by the accuracy of Jack Kane, Meath rallied to hold a 0-12 to 1-3 interval advantage.
