Round-up from kerry.gaa.ie
A physically stronger Meath side qualified for the BGE Under 21 B Hurling final with a comprehensive 9 points victory over Kerry at Trim this afternoon. Kerry were dealt a blow before the start when they had to line out without the injured Keith Carmody and Michael O’Leary and the loss of these two influential players was a sorely felt throughout the game. Kerry also wasted many scoring opportunities throughout the hour and had 14 wides to their discredit.
The sides traded points right throughout the first half before Jordan Conway found the net on the stroke of half time to give Kerry a 1-9 to 0-8 lead at the break. However Meath took over in the second half outscoring the visitors by 1-13 to 0-2. They had levelled up the game by the 40th minute with three points and followed with a goal in the 43rd minute to take a lead they never relinquished and now go on to meet Mayo, one point conquerors of Roscommon, in the final.
