Arrival of Torch from Michael Cusack’s GAA Club – 125th Anniversary Celebrations
The Torch Run, which starts at Michael Cusack’s cottage in Carron, Co. Clare at 12 noon, will conclude in Liberty Square at 9pm after its journey through Tipperary from Finnegans in Limerick (commencing at 6pm), via Newport (arriving 6.15pm), Rearcross (arriving 6.55pm), Metal Bridge (arriving 7.25pm) and Ballycahill (arriving 8pm).
The torch will travel on a special “Torchmobile” between towns and villages and will be carried through the towns and villages by the local clubs.
It will begin its journey into Thurles at 8.30pm from Barlo’s Garage near the Racecourse. We encourage as many people as possible to come out and watch the Torch Run. It promises to be a special occasion.

11.45a.m. Lighting Of Torch – Jimmy O’Gorman
12:00pm Start of Torch Run – Jimmy O’Gorman and Mick O’Neill will take it on the first leg from The Michael Cusack Centre to the Road. The Torchmobile will accompany the Torch to Thurles
The following Clubs will then take the Torch through Clare – Michael Cusack Club: Kildenora: Corofin: Ruane: Innagh/Kilnamona, Kilmaley: The Banner: Clarecastle: Newmarket: Wolfe Tones, Shannon: Six Mile Bridge: Cratloe: Meelick
2.00 p.m Limerick Clubs assemble in Gaelic Grounds
2.45p.m. Meelick Club (Clare) will hand over the Torch at Coonagh Roundabout on the Ennis Road to the Na Piarsaigh Club who will bring it to the Gaelic Grounds
3.00p.m. Parade of Limerick Clubs from Gaelic Grounds via Ennis Road, Sarsfields Bridge, William St. and on to Mulgrave St.
4.30p.m. Claughaun Club will take the Torch from Mulgrave St to the Claughaun Club.
St. Patrick’s Club will take it from Claughaun Club to Groody Bridge
Milford Club will take it from Groody Bridge to Hurlers Cross
Monaleen Club will take it from Hurlers Cross to Annacotty Village
Ahane Club will take it from Annacotty Village to Finnegans Roundabout
6.00p.m. Handover of Torch at Finnegans Roundabout to Tipperary
On to Newport, Rearcross (Sean Treacys Club): Upperchurch Drombane: Holycross-Ballycahill
8.30p.m. Arrive at Thurles Racecourse
Walk to Liberty Square by Thurles Sarsfields: Thurles KRF and Durlas Og led by the Moycarkey Borris Pipe Band
9.00p.m. Torch arrives in Liberty Square and will be received by Barry O’Brien Chairman of Tipperary County Board
