CLARE had two points to spare over Longford at Cusack Park, Ennis yesterday. The home-side enjoyed a 1-6 to 0-4 advantage at the break. Although they only managed one score in the second period, a long range David Tubridy pointed free, it still proved enough for their third win of this campaign. Longford for their part were far too reliant on corner-forward Sean McCormack for scores, while man of the match Gary Brennan supplied the game’s only goal with a fisted effort deep into injury-time in the opening half.
