2023 Munster Scór na nÓg Final

April 15, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Four counties share the spoils at the 50th Munster Scór na nÓg Final at a packed Éire Óg GAA Pavilion. Brilliant talent took to the stage where cultural fare surfaced in a feast of music, song, drama, and dance.

Micheál Ó Riaín of Pailís na Gréine, Luimneach compered the proceedings as Fear a’Tí as Scór na Mumhan acknowledged the 1973 Amhránaíocht Aonair Champion, 50 years on from his victory in the first Scór na nÓg All-Ireland Final, while Tracey Cronin, Uibh Laoire, Corcaigh opened the competitions singing Amhrán na bhFiann. The prizes were presented by Ger Ryan, Chairperson Munster GAA Council and Margaret Whelan, Chairperson Scór na Mumhan.

The ‘green and gold’ led the way claiming three Munster crowns for the Kingdom with Glenflesk in Bailéad Ghrúpa, Crotta O’Neills in Ceol Uirlise and Spa in Rince Seit.

The Premier and Rebels enjoyed double success each where Newcastle in Rince Foirne and Dáithí Ó Cinnéide, Templederry Kenyons in Aithriseoireacht brought joy to the ‘blue and gold’ supporters while Clonakility in Tráth na gCeist and Sibéal Ní Mhórdha, Carbery Rangers in Amhránaíocht Aonair brought silverware to West Cork.

Limerick sampled success through Banogue in Nuachleas to bring a Munster Cup back to the Treaty County.

There was also success for Tralee Parnell’s (Ciarraí) and Newport (Tiobraid Árann) who qualified for the All-Ireland Tráth na gCeist competition following their top three finish.

An excellent day’s entertainment was provided by all competitors and the audience most certainly enjoyed the spectacle. We wish our Munster representatives the very best of luck as they go forward to the All-Ireland Scór na nÓg Final on Saturday 6th May at the Gleneagle/INEC Arena, Killarney.
