Boherbue (Cork) – All-Ireland Scór na nÓg Champions
Boherbue brought All-Ireland Scor na nOg glory to Cork for the second time in three years when they claimed the set dancing crown in Castlebar last weekend.
Dancing to the ‘Cavan Reel’, the Boherbue group of Amee McCarthy, Evie Casey, Louise Fitzgerald, Amanda O’Sullivan, Daniel Murphy, Jimmy Herlihy, Timothy Murphy and Eddie Kiely (Hannah O’Sullivan and Michael Daly were able substitutes) produced a flawless display to see off the challenges of Abbeyknockmoy (Galway), St. Joseph’s (Westmeath) and Crosserlough (Cavan).
A delighted Boherbue mentor Marie Casey said: “All involved made me so proud. Two years ago, there was some controversy but there was no denying us on this occasion.
“The dancers were true professionals, enjoying themselves and knocking sparks off the stage. And the future looks bright too, given the talent, that’s emerging at Scor na bPaisti level.”
