National Hurling League Round 2 – Results
Tipperary 2-20 Limerick 2-9 – Tipperary maintained their 100 per cent start to this year’s Allianz NHL with a comprehensive eleven-point victory against under-strength Limerick in Thurles. Five-time Allstar Eoin Kelly continued in his rich vein of scoring form with a massive haul of 1-12 to add to the 1-10 he bagged against the Faithful County last Sunday. Limerick, meanwhile, started with just three of the players who lined out against Kilkenny in last September’s All-Ireland final and Tipp comfortably dispensed with the experimental visitors to Semple Stadium.
Clare 1-25 Laois 1-15 – Clare returned to winning ways in Scarriff yesterday where they inflicted a 10 point defeat on youthful Laois. Played in glorious sunshine, the visitors held their own in the opening 20 minutes but, once Clare found their feet, there was going to be only one result. The game was a triumph for corner forward Mark Flaherty. The Killanena man, who accounted for 3-8 of his side’s tally in the defeat by Galway the previous week, maintained his phenomenal scoring feat, posting 1-12.
Kerry 4-7 Wicklow 1-11
