New Club Development Course
Some of the leading GAA coaches and tutors in Ireland will be contributing to a new Club Development, Administration and Coaching Course that is starting in the Limerick Institute of Technology on Monday, February 11th. Master tutors in Hurling and Gaelic Football have combined with top National Comhairle facilitators to design this exciting and innovative course. Seoirse Bulfin, LIT Sports and Recreation Manager explained,
“The course will cover all the day to day aspects of running a GAA club and has been developed in conjunction with Limerick County Board and the Munster Council”. Said Eddie O’Sullivan, LIT GAA Development Officer. “This is the first course of its kind to be run in the country and it includes the following topics- (1) Basic Coaching in Hurling, Camogie, Gaelic Football, Ladies Football; (2) Club Development; (3) Role of Club Officers (4) I.T. requirements of the modern day GAA Club for use in fixtures, registrations etc. (5) Club Fundraising initiatives (6) Code of Best Practice.
Places on the course are limited so I would encourage people to register an interest as soon as possible.” The course runs for 12 weeks on Monday evenings from 7:00pm to 10:00pm in LIT commencing on February 11th 2008 at 7:00pm and the course fee is €300.
