Waterford GAA is currently inviting applications for the voluntary post of Strength & Conditioning Intern to begin immediately (remotely) moving on to being involved with a squad as soon as they begin training. This is an excellent opportunity to work under the guidance of our vastly experienced Strength & Conditioning Co-Ordinator.

These roles will form part of the work being done with our Déise Óg Academy Squads. In recent months a working group have been examining all areas related to underage squads with the aim of aiding in the development of players and coaches. With 10 years of inter county management experience as well as previous involvement with squads Chairman of the group Jason Ryan is ideally placed to lead the group which has had involvement from GDA’s, current and former squad coaches and mentors.

Speaking ahead of the start of the Internships Jason said “These internships will be of great benefit to the Déise Óg Academy Squads and to the interns. The interns will gain real life practical experience with a county squad and the squads will benefit from the expertise of the interns in assisting with Strength, Conditioning & Athletic Development Work. We are really looking forward to getting this programme going for all squads”

Coaching Officer Eoin Morrisey is delighted with the progress to date saying “This is an exciting programme and we feel it will benefit our underage county teams now & into the future. All in Déise Óg are looking forward to starting this new programme.”
