Coláiste na Sceilge retain Under 15 Football Munster B Title
Coláiste na Sceilge 3-8 Coláiste Cholmáin Fermoy 1-11
Coláiste na Sceilge defended their Munster Under 15 Football Munster title at the Kerry GAA Centre of Excellence in Currans following a game of two halves in which St. Colman’s Fermoy pushed them all the way in an entertaining game for all spectators.
The first half began with a St. Colman’s point but quickly became dominated by Coláiste na Sceilge as they created a comfortable lead at the interval. Jack Clifford was the main powerhouse in midfield for the Kerry side during the opening half and provided some exceptional fielding.
The second half began with a much-spirited St. Colman’s side racing out of the blocks and taking the game to Coláiste na Sceilge. The Cork side gave little or no space for the Kerry school to try and move out of their own half but when they did the Kerry side wasted some good chances of scores.
The final ten minutes provided a nail-biting encounter as St. Colman’s looked to drive for the lead which eluded them by three points as Coláiste na Sceilge did just about enough to get over the line.
The game in full provided some lovely football and the respect between both sets of players was a joy to witness on the final whistle. After a nice presentation of the Cup, both teams including spectators were treated to a meet and greet over tea/sandwiches while also having all facilities at the Centre of Excellence open for viewing to see the amazing project in Currans.
