Munster GAA has yet again displayed its commitment to the educational development of players in the province through the provision of 94 bursaries for students at various third level colleges throughout the province. The total expenditure comes to in excess of €70k with both Comhairle na Mumhan and Croke Park contributing.
Interviews were held prior to Christmas at the various Third Level Colleges throughout the province and most of the successful students would have by now received the first of two installments of the €750 grant.
A condition of receiving the bursary is the demonstration of a commitment to the Higher Education GAA Club either as a player or administrator. Munster GAA also set aside a certain number of bursaries for students who were unsuccessful in their college application or who attend colleges outside the province.
At a reception held recently in Aras Mumhan six successful recipients were presented with their bursaries from Munster Council Chairman Robert Frost.
