Can Limerick Topple Tipp
Tipperary and Limerick’s Munster Hurling Championship form could hardly be more contrasting ahead of their semi final in Gaelic Grounds at 4pm on Sunday.
Tipp are looking to become the first county to win three successive Munster titles since they managed it themselves back in the late 80’s. They have won 10 of their last 11 games in the provincial championship dating back to 2008. Their only Munster Championship defeat in that time came against Cork in 2010.
Limerick on the other hand have won just once in their last 17 championship games within their own province but it is that one win that will give them hope leading into Sunday’s game. That victory came against Tipperary in 2007 in the Gaelic Grounds, the last time the two teams played at Limerick’s home venue, and coming at the end of a trilogy of games typified the rivalry between counties over the years.
However, ahead of the 65th championship game between the pair, the question remains can Limerick Topple Tipp?
