Football’s Heroes of the Future Take Centre Stage
The Cadbury GAA Football U21 Championship 2013 is up and running with the straight knockout format already providing some notable results. Reigning Champions Dublin have fallen to a highly talented Longford side and perennial challengers Cork have overcome fierce rivals Kerry. The Cadbury Hero of the Future Award will again be given to the Championship’s top performer as chosen by judges, former Dublin manager Paul Caffrey, Kildare senior footballer Dermot Earley and TG4 journalist Micheal Ó Domhnaill, aided by a public vote. Speaking at the launch of the initiative, rising stars Robbie Smyth (Longford) and Niall Kelly (Kildare) outlined their hopes for the season while the expert judges assessed the rest of the field.
