Stars Chase AIB GAA Club Championship Glory

Colm Cooper, Oisín McConville and Eoin Larkin were on hand in Croke Park to kick-start AIB’s 21st Birthday celebration of the Club Championships.

AIB has been proudly sponsoring the GAA Club Championships for 21 years, during which time AIB have
witnessed spectacular displays of community spirit and club successes in the race for All-Ireland club
glory. AIB have announced a renewal of their sponsorship of the Club Championships for a further
five years.

Speaking at the launch of the 2012/2013 season AIB’s Director, Personal, Business and Corporate
Banking, Bernard Byrne said: “The GAA is one of the great sporting associations in the world today,
reaching into every community across Ireland. The fact that it is an amateur organisation, driven by the
dedication of thousands of players and volunteers makes it remarkable and unique. The GAA plays a
central role in Irish society and AIB looks forward to continuing working closely with the Association in
promoting and advancing the club championships and supporting over 2,300 clubs, in the years to come.”

Uachtarán CLG Liam O’Neill acknowledges the importance of the GAA’s club competition, as the core of
the community, saying; “The Club is at the heart of the GAA and its continued growth and success is of
the greatest importance and I’d like to thank AIB most sincerely for their endorsement over the past 21
years and their continued support for these much loved games. Today is an occasion to celebrate this
fantastic competition and I look forward to another exciting campaign.
