Munster Camogie Notes

Sunday 4 October 2009

Tipperary Senior County Final is scheduled for Sunday October 11th at 3pm in the Ragg County Camogie Grounds The first of the Senior Championship semi finals took place last Sunday when near neighbours Toomevara & Burgess/Duharra battled it out for the spoils. Toomevara were coming into this game as beaten finalists of 2008, while Burgess/Duharra, with players with County experience were looking to catapult themselves to the top once again. In a very tight game where the lead switched on a regular basis it was Burgess/Duharra who emerged victorious on a scoreline of 1.14 to 2.08. They will now watch with great interest when the other semi final between Cashel & Drom will take place this Saturday October 3rd at 4pm in the Camogie grounds.

The Junior A Championship also played out its semi finals over the weekend. On Saturday last, Clonoulty faced Burgess/Duharra. These two sides met earlier in the year in the league final, when on that occasion, Burgess had the upper hand with a comprehensive win over the girls from the west. Not so this time though as Clonoulty won by the narrowest margin on a scoreline of 1.10 to 0.12.

The other semi final again was a battle between Annacarty and Lorrha. In another close game, it was the Lorrha girls who had enough in the tank to finish at the right side of a 1.07 to 0.07 scoreline. So, next Saturday, October 10th at 4:30, the Junior A County final between Clonoulty & Lorrha will be decided.

Limerick Junior Championship 2009

Final Oct 3rd in Ballyagran @5pm

Feenagh-Kilmeedy V Kilmallock

The last time these two meat was in early May and an easy win for Feenagh was the result. Feenagh went on to win the league undefeated , and have yet to taste defeat in limerick this year. They also won all their games in Division 3 of the North Munster League.

This is only the second year Kilmallock have contested at adult level in limerick , so it is a great achievement to reach a championship final with such a young squad. Some of the team played in the feile, which Kilmallock entered for the first time and won.

Feenagh will be strong favourites for the title.
