All Ireland Club Camogie Championship Semi Final
Drom & Inch (Tipperary) defeated Athenry (Galway) by 1-8 to 0-10 in the All Ireland Club Senior Camogie Championship Semi Final on Saturday. Drom & Inch will now play O’Donovan Rossa (Antrim) in the All-Ireland Final. Drom & Inch will hope to emulate fellow Tipperary outfit Cashel by winning the title in a fortnight’s time. Inspired by Therese Shortt and Siobhán McGrath, Drom & Inch overturned a 0-7 to 0-4 half-time advantage to reach the decider for the very first time. Athenry, heavily reliant on Jessica Gill’s eight points, were caught by Joanne Ryan’s goal nine minutes from time which sent Drom & Inch 1-7 to 0-8 in front. Drom held off a late Athenry charge and breathed a huge sigh of relief when Nicola Nally shot over the crossbar in stoppage time as the Galway girls threatened to score a winning goal.
Kilmayley (Clare) defeated Four Roads (Roscommon) by 4-11 to 0-3 in the All Ireland Club Junior Camogie Championship Semi Final. Kilmayley will now play The Harps (Laois) in the All-Ireland Final. Clare outfit Kilmaley will attempt to stop Laois side Harps capturing a third successive crown when the teams contest the junior final on November 16. Emma O’Driscoll (2), Katie Cahill and Helen McMahon scored the Kilmaley goals as they ran out 4-11 to 0-3 winners against Roscommon’s Four Roads at the grounds of St. Joseph’s Doora-Barefield.
