2008 Inter-Provincial Championship Semi-Finals
Munster defeated Ulster by 2-14 to 1-12 in the 2008 Inter-Provincial Hurling Championship Semi-Final played at Fermoy. Munster led by 2-5 to 0-5 at the interval thanks to goals by Eoin Kelly (Waterford) and Seamus Callanan (Tipperary). Ulster replied with a second half goal by Antrim’s Shane McNaughton but Munster finished strongly to ensure a place in the final by a five point winning margin. Munster will now play Leinster in the Hurling Final on Saturday.
Munster also defeated Ulster in the 2008 Inter-Provincial Football Championship Semi-Final, winning a low scoring game by 1-5 to 0-5 with Munster captain Nicholas Murphy scoring the all important goal. Munster will now play Connacht in the Football Final on Saturday.
