COUNTY GAMES DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – COUNTY CLARE

Cúige Mumhan agus Coiste Chontae Clar C.L.G. wishes to recruit a County Games Development Manager for the above county. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of GAA Games Development Policy within a County, by developing and delivering a comprehensive County Games Development Plan on an annual basis with the assistance of the steering groups’ active in the County. They will lead the Games Development executive within the County and serve as secretary of the County Games Development Committee.


Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Production of an Annual Games Development Plan for the County.
  • Manage and review the performance of all County Games Development personnel responsible for the implementation of the Annual Games Development plan.
  • Prepare and manage budgets and maintain accurate and up to date records and reports as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with key local stakeholders, partners and other agencies.
  • Liaise with National and Provincial Games Development Personnel and attend meetings and personnel training as required, to support the development of the function and the role.
  • Complete any other duties that may reasonably be assigned by the Provincial Games Development Manager.

    Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience of working in the GAA or similar sporting organization (Voluntary or Professional Capacity).
  • Clear and detailed knowledge of the GAA’s coaching schemes and initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines; hands-on approach to getting things done.
  • Ability to clearly present goals and direction; Reporting experience.
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills.
  • Strong ability to manage people and resources, and build and maintain strong team relationships and manage conflict.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
  • Exceptional interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong ability to work in high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent administrative and IT Skills are essential.
  • An appropriate Third Level Qualification would be desirable.
