PRESS RELEASE

Bord Gáis Energy Munster GAA Awards

Irish Examiner Munster GAA Supporter of the Year

ARE you a friend or colleague of a GAA fan who frequently goes beyond the call of duty – and doesn’t think twice about it? Or do you know someone whose dedication to the cause, whether it be club or county, makes you shake your head in wonderment?

Well, we’re looking to honour that person! The Irish Examiner and the Munster Council of the GAA are looking to find the Irish Examiner Munster GAA Supporter of the Year. It may be someone who travels thousands of miles for big games – or someone who simply never misses a club match, whatever the distractions and complications. These are the true grassroot supporters of the GAA and we want to recognise them.

The Irish Examiner Munster GAA Supporter of the Year will be named early next month and he or she, together with their nominee, will get to share a table for ten with guests of their choice at the Bord Gáis Energy Munster GAA Awards in Killarney on December 3rd.

This glittering, black-tie ceremony sees the cream of Munster GAA talent for 2011 get presented their awards – and for the first time there is one for a supporter too.

All you’ve got to do is nominate the person you think deserves the accolade and tell us in not more than 100 words why. The person nominating the supporter must be a member of a Munster GAA club. Supporters cannot nominate themselves.

Check out the Irish Examiner for details on how to enter from Monday, November 14.

Entries can be sent via e-mail to munstergaasupporter2011@examiner.ie or via post to Irish Examiner Munster GAA Supporter of the Year, Irish Examiner, City Quarter, Lapps Quay, Cork City.
