All Ireland Scór success for Patrickswell and Rathmore

THE GAA Festival of music song, dance and dance provided an entertaining and colourful spectacle at the All Ireland Scór Finals hosted at the INEC, Killarney on Saturday night. President Christy Cooney hailed the pursuits of participating teams drawn from throughout the country in the GAA promoted cultural programme. As club and county colours wavered in a rousing atmosphere, Leitrim and Tyrone representatives sent the packed auditorium into raptures with double victories.

Glencar-Manorhamilton answered the call to win at figure dancing with Aisling Sammon of Aughnasheelin sampling success at solo singing to complete a productive outing for Leitrim. Amidst stiff competition at instrumental music, Dromore from Tyrone delivered a series of rousing tunes to collect a win for the Ulster champions. County colleagues Killyclogher had reason to celebrate too, savouring a win at Ballad Group. Armagh’s Niamh Devine revealed her talents to land the dividends at recitation for the Carrickcruppen club. Leinster relied on Carnew Emmets from Wicklow to emerge in the Novelty Act.

Kerry supporters had plenty to cheer about on Rathmore regaining the Question Time after a four year lapse. And Limerick’s Patrickswell emerged popular winners to capture the set dancing discipline for the first time.
