Scór Scriptwriting Competition
SCRIPTWRITING COMPETITION
LÉIRIÚ (STAGE PRESENTATON) AND RECITATION/STORYTELLING)
Cumann Lúthchleas Gael (GAA) through its cultural branches, Coiste Náisiúnta Scór and Coiste Náisiúnta na Gaeilge is holding an open competition for newly composed original scripts, which would be available to clubs for performance in Léiriú Stáitse and Aithriseoreacht/Recitation for any performer taking part in Scór competitions. The competition details are as follows:-
1) Script for Léiriú Stáitse. Léiriú Stáitse is a stage presentation with a theme based on an aspect of Irish life, culture or folklore (including GAA). It would be a dramatic presentation in serious or comic form, of not more than 10 minutes duration, and which would be performed by groups of at least 3 and not more than 8 people. Simple props may be used.
1st Prize – €500
2nd Prize – €300
2) Aithriseoireacht / Scéalaíocht – Recitation / Storytelling. This competition is for a solo performer and it takes entries in the form of recitations, monologues, poems and stories relating to Ireland (including GAA), its history, local folklore, people or places. Each piece to be of not more than six minutes duration.

2nd Prize – €300

Prizes will be presented to the winning entries by Aogán Ó Fearghail, Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael, at Páirc an Chrócaigh, on a date to be announced. All the Scripts entered will be made available to GAA Clubs in Book Form for use in Scór competitions. Though Scripts are freely available to Clubs, this will not prevent the author from using the work in another Forum should he/she wish to do so. The author will be acknowledged in any performance.
Entries should be sent by email to scor@gaa.ie on or before the closing date of 11 February, 2017.
It is the hope of both Coistí that this project will generate a good response.
COMÓRTAS SCRÍOBHNÓIREACHT SCRIPTE
LÉIRIÚ STÁITSE AGUS AITHRISEOIREACHT/SCÉALAÍOCHT
Tá an Chumann Lúthchleas Gael tríd Choiste Náisiúnta Scór agus Coiste Náisiúnta na Gaeilge ag reactáil dhá chomórtas – Léiriú Stáitse agus Aithriseoireacht – le h-aghaidh scripteanna nua-chumtha. Sonraí na gcomórtaisí mar leanas:-
1) Léiriú Stáitse. Ba chóir an téama a bheith dírithe ar gnéith den saol Gaelach (CLG san áireamh), cultúr nó béaloideas. D’fhéadfadh an Léiriú Stáitse a bheith drámatúil ach dáiríre nó greannmhar, curtha i láthair ag grúpa ar a bheadh ochtar (8) aisteoirí agus gan níos lú ná triúr (3) sa ghrúpa. Tá teora ama de deich (10) noiméad curtha leis an chomórtas seo de réir rialacha Scór. Beifear in ann fearas stáitse simplí a úsáid.
Céad Duais – €500
Dara Dúais – €300
2) Aithriseoireacht/Scéalaíocht. Fáilteofar roimh iontrálaithe i bhfoirm aithriseoireachtaí, monalóig, dánta agus scéalta maidir le stair na hÉireann (CLG san áireamh), béaloideas áitiúl, daoine nó áiteanna. De réir rialacha Scór tá teora ama de sé (6) noiméad curtha leis an gcomórtas seo.
Céad Duais – €500
Dara Dúais – €300
Tá na chomórtaisí scríobhnóireacht scripte oscailte do chách. Fáilteofar roimh iontrálaithe as Gaeilge agus cuirfear duais speisialta de €200 don Léiriú / Aithriseoireacht Gaeilge is fearr muna mbíonn ceann i nGaeilge sa céad nó sa dara áit.
Bronnfaidh Aogán Ó Fearghail, Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael na duaiseanna ar na buaiteoirí ag ócáid i bPáirc an Chrócaigh ar dáta atá le socrú. Cuirfear na scripteanna ar fáil do chlubanna CLG i bhfoirm leabhar le h-úsáid i gcomórtaisí Scór. Cé go mbeidh na scripteanna ar fáil do chlubanna, ní bheidh cosc ar údar a chuid obair a úsáid ag fóram eile. Tabharfaidh an té/grúpa a bheidh ag aithris nó ag cuir i láthair na bpíosaí, aitheantas don té a chum an script. Foilseofar na h-iontráil i bhfoirm leabhar a chuirfear ar fáil do chlubanna an Chumann Lúthchleas Gael.
