May 9, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The National Launch of John West Féile Peile Na nÓg will take place on Monday 9th May at 6.30pm at Pairc Na Feile Brosna, a club that bounds both Limerick and Cork. It is the home of the 2015 All Ireland Club Junior Champions.

Presidents of the GAA and LGFA will launch the event, which features 250 teams from local clubs to teams from the UK and the US and for the first time ever a team from France.

John West Féile Peile na nÓg takes place from 24th to 26th June and is being in the South West by Kerry, West Limerick, North Cork with a hub in Cork City.

This national tournament of football is an annual festival encompassing both boys and girls at U14 level with 160 boys and 90 girls teams competing this year.

Speaking ahead of the launch Feile South West Chairperson Tom Keane said, “It is a fantastic honour to host this wonderful event and welcome participants and their families from all over Ireland and beyond. Kerry last held Feile in 1994 and the whole region is up for the massive challenge, which will see over 100,000 travel to the region”

The ethos of Féile is to ensure that all players are given the opportunity to participate and play in their respective Féile tournaments. Clubs gain the experience of playing teams from other counties and to foster links and friendships with these clubs.

The launch night is open to all clubs and will see boys and girls clubs from Castleisland, Knock/Brosna, Knocknagree, Kanturk and Fr. Caseys Abbeyfeale participate in a Feile Blitz with all the players getting a special presentation from both presidents.
