Wexford defeated Tipperary by 2-16 to 2-12 in Round 7 of the Allianz Football League Division 3 on April 5th at Clonmel.

David Power’s Wexford came from eight points down to claim just their second league victory of the season. Already-relegated Wexford showed real character to overturn an eight-point half-time deficit, as Kevin O’Grady netted 39 seconds after half-time before Ciarán Lyng scored a brilliant second goal, lobbing Colum Nugent from a free.

First-half goals from Peter Acheson and George Hannigan had Tipp in the driving seat but Barry Grogan slammed a penalty off the crossbar just before half-time. This was a morale-boosting victory for Power, who managed Tipperary to All-Ireland minor glory in 2011.

The Tipperary Senior Football team to play Wexford at 3pm, on Sunday next, April 5th, in the Allianz Football League Roinn 3 round 7 fixture has been announced. It shows a number of changes to the side that faced Sligo last Sunday as management also focus on the Munster U21 Championship Final in Semple Stadium on Thursday next.
