Clare meeting will be “extra special”

Waterford sharp shooter Padraic Mahoney feels meeting Clare in the Munster hurling semi final this weekend will be a special occasion.

The game which takes place at Semple Stadium at 4pm on Sunday sees the return of Davy Fitzgerald to his native Clare after a four year stint in charge of Waterford.

The Deise last met Clare in Munster two years ago, a match they won but injury doubt Mahoney knows Davy Fitz will bring some insider knowledge to bear on this year’s clash.

Cork or Tipperary await the winner’s of Sunday’s game on the 15th of July.
