The 2011 Féile Peile na nÓg sponsored by Bus Éireann will take place this weekend in Co. Cork. The event, which will run from Thursday, June 30, until Saturday, July 2, will see Clubs from all over Ireland head south to take part in one of the GAA’s finest showpieces of young talent. This competition is a national festival of Football for boys and girls who are 14 and under. The winning teams are crowned All-Ireland champions in their respective competitions and it always provides a feast of Gaelic Games.

Clubs from around the country will head to Cork for the Féile weekend where they will be hosted by various Clubs within the county. Over 4,200 children will be participating, in almost 40 venues throughout Cork. Many accomplished footballers, past and present, have participated in Féile in their youth. One of the highlights of the weekend is the Parade which will take place in Cork City on Thursday evening, commencing from the Mardyke GAA grounds at 7:30pm.

The major finals will take place in Páirc Uí Rinn and Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday, July 2, while the group games will be played at different venues around the county such as Mallow, Mahon, Togher and Youghal. Full details are available from www.feilecorcaigh2011.gaa.ie. With just two days to go to the start of the 2011 Féile Peile na nÓg sponsored by Bus Éireann finals, Uachtarán Chumann Luthchleas Gael Criostóir Ó Cuana anticipates a unique celebration of Football once again this year.

“Féile is a momentous competition that our young members relish to participate in and they often remember these few days for the rest of their lives. I would like to congratulate and thank the countless people both in Cork and countrywide who have contributed in any way to the organising of this event and also to our new competition sponsors Bus Éireann.” “I wish all the competing teams and players who travel to Cork for the competition every success and hope that in addition to competing for titles everyone enjoys what should be a memorable weekend when friendships and bonds will be forged that last a lifetime.”

Andrew McLindon, PR Manager, Bus Éireann added: “Bus Éireann is the proud sponsor of Féile Peile na nÓg. We are delighted to be part of this remarkable sporting event and we wish everyone involved the very best of luck. We believe this is a great match for Bus Éireann as the tournament is a fantastic showcase of the commitment and energy of communities across Ireland.” A feast of Football is anticipated so please support the stars of the future.
