All-Ireland MFC Quarter-final – Tyrone 2-12 Kerry 0-09: Tyrone minors emphatically ended Kerry’s 100 per cent success rate at the quarter-final stage of the Championship. Before today, Kerry minors had played eight quarter-finals without tasting defeat but were completely outclassed by a ruthless Tyrone outfit.

Goals from Harry Óg Conlon and Michael Donaghy were enough to give Tyrone a comfortable 2-06 to 0-04 half-time lead, with the decisive scores coming on 20 and 23 minutes respectively They were blows from which Kerry were never able to fully recover. Mark Reen battled well for the Kingdom in the second half and substitute Gavan O’Grady proved a handful for the Red Hand defence when introduced, but Tyrone were always comfortable. Five Ronan O’Neill points, two of which were from open play, meant that Tyrone’s passage to the semi-final was a relatively straightforward one.
